I painted this piece while reading Mary Gabriel's Ninth Street Women (a life changing book for me). In that book, Gabriel described how Piet Mondrian once was critiquing Lee Krasner's work – and said it had "a very strong inner rhythm" 🥁

I loved that concept: An inner rhythm. Moving to your own pulse, irrespective of any other influence, and finding your own impring. I attempted to channel that inner rhythm, and find my own, in this piece.
