I painted this during a hot summer in Chicago, outside on my porch. It was my very first deep dive into oils –so I experimented and tinkered with techniques and brushstrokes.

I remember being inspired by an unbelievable sunset I saw in North Carolina, ripping through the sky.

I gifted this to a dear friend for her birthday.

This piece is about releasing what burdens you and celebrating what happens when you give up control.
